Brother XL2600i Sewing Machine Review

Brother XL2600i Sewing Machine Review

The Brother XL2600i sewing machine is super simple to use and includes enough decorative stitches to work for basic mending, light quilting, and some craft sewing. Priced at under 0 and weighing only 11 pounds, this is an ideal sewing machine for anyone who wants something they can move easily or pull out as needed and store away quickly.

This is also a great sewing machine for kids as it includes enough variety to keep them interested and is more sturdy and long-lasting than the smaller machines made specifically for children.

Brother XL2600i Stitch Pattern
The number of stitches that come with any sewing machine often define its limitations in terms of creativity and crafting. This machine comes with 25 built-in stitches and one of the best combinations of stitch types (utility, decorative, and heirloom) in this price range.

Stitch patterns include a one-step buttonhole, straight, zigzag, blind hem, 2 stretch stitches for working with jersey and knits, shell tuck, elastic shell tuck, double action, bridging, and a number of decorative stitches.

Brother XL2600i Presser Feet
Five different presser feet come with the Brother XL2600i. Presser feet hold your fabric in place while you sew. A general presser foot is used for most projects but sometimes you need fabric to move in a certain direction to accomplish a specific task, like making buttonholes.

That’s where the additional presser feet come in handy. They make these unique jobs easier to accomplish. This machine uses snap-on style presser feet: Buttonhole, Zipper, Button Sewing, Narrow Hemmer, and a Blind Stitch presser foot.

Brother XL2600i Sewing Machine Features
The selection dial and reverse lever are large and easy to use – another reason this is one of the best sewing machines for kids. It can also handle both lightweight and heavier fabrics.

Machine set up has been designed to be as uncomplicated as possible. There’s an automatic needle threader, a drop-in bobbin system, adjustable stitch width and length dials, and good sized reverse button and a built-in thread cutter on the side of the machine.

This machine is capable of twin needle sewing and unlike even pricier machines, it actually comes with the twin needle accessory. On more expensive machines it’s common to have to purchase that separately.
Free arm sewing is possible by removing the cover plate so that sleeves and pant legs can be slipped under the needle easily.

A light over the work space makes it easier to see as you sew and a built-in carry handle allows you to easily move the machine around. A number of accessories are included such as extra bobbins, needles, a screwdriver and darning plate. The Brother XL2600i sewing machine stands out as an excellent choice for a lightweight machine with great stitch variety and automated setup.

Setting up this machine in order to sew is simple and uncomplicated. The controls are easy to use and well marked. It runs quietly and the instruction manual is easy to understand.

Brother XL2230 Stitch Patterns
This sewing machine comes with 11 built-in stitches: one four-step buttonhole stitch, 3 styles of straight stitches, a triple stretch stitch, elastic overlock, 3 styles of zigzag stitches, blind hem, and an elastic stitch. Stitch width and length are pre-set.

Brother XL2230 Presser Feet

The Brother 6000 sewing machine review

The Brother 6000 sewing machine review

Are you thinking about buying a good sewing machine but your budget is less than 0? If you’re looking for a machine that has many features but is not cheaply made and you’re not willing to spend a ton of money the Brother 6000 sewing machine might be the right solution for you. Let me tell you about my experience with this sewing machine.

The machine is really easy to use – I’m a stay at home mom and I don’t have too much spare time learning how to use a new sewing machine. Furthermore I’m quite new to sewing, so, when I was looking for a sewing machine one of my priorities was finding one that had some really simple and convenient features.

I choose the Brother 6000 sewing machine based on the great reviews I read on line. What appealed to me is the fact that the sewing is fully computerized, it has a great selection of different stitches and an automatic needle threading.

Click here to buy the Brother cs 6000i sewing machine now!

In every case, before starting with the sewing read carefully the manual that is included. I found it to be exceptionally helpful and informative (and you discover so many hidden possibilities).

Here is a list of things a really like about the Brother 6000 sewing machine:

It’s easy to use even for a newbie– everything about this machine is plain and simple. The stitch selection is fully computerized (the machine actually tells you what to do). You can actually operate it without a foot control just by using the one-touch start/stop and reverse control buttons. I really like that you can choose the sewing speed you need using the electronic speed control. And what is very important to me the machine is easy to thread.

The features are just great! – I just love the automatic buttonholer and the automatic needle threading.  It makes it so much easier! The accessories that are included are great as well (for zipper insertion, twin needle stitching, darning, button sewing). The selection of presser feet with this machine is very good as well.

It’s great for quilting too – It’s an excellent machine for quilting and it comes with a quilting table. I’m not exactly a quilter, but my mother who likes quilting tried it and she was blown away by the possibilities (I later got her this machine for her birthday). With this machine you can do accurate stitching of slippery fabrics and of multiple layers.  Furthermore, the machine has a drop feed so you can create free-form and traditional quilt patterns.

The computerized stitch selection – I really love this feature, it makes it so easy to change stitch length and width. When you change the stitches the LCD display tells you what presser foot you need to attach for that stitch! The stitch functions are numerous: utility stitches for mending and garment construction, decorative stitches, quilting stitches and super-wide zigzag stitches.

The machine is surprisingly featherweight (16 pounds) so you can carry it around without a problem. Especially if you have to carry it around the house.

The price is a bargain! – you are really getting great value-for-money with this machine, especially when you think about the feet and accessories that are included (with other machine you usually have to buy additional attachments separately). I compared the features and quality of this machine with a sewing machine a friend of mine has (and who paid it 0) and I have to say mine is better!

Click here to buy this amazing sewing machine from atrusted seller!

At the end I have to say this machine exceeds all my expectations. I’m still discovering the hidden possibilities of this machine and my sewing is getting better every day (I’m even considering starting a small business selling my baby carriers and pouches on line!). So, if you’re into sewing this is the machine you absolutely need!

Here is a little advice. Spend a little bit more for your threads (at a specialized store) and the machine will perform so much better (you won’t experience tension or bobbins problems).

Singer 1748 Sewing Machine Review

Singer 1748 Sewing Machine Review

The Singer 1748 sewing machine has attractive red detail so it’s a very nice looking machine but its real charm comes from the unique combination of built-in stretch stitches. This sewing machine also has adjustable presser foot pressure which is helpful when working with different fabric thicknesses and can be hard to find on sewing machines under 0.

Singer 1748 Stitch Patterns
There are 32 built in stitches that cover different types of fabric and different types of sewing but the bulk are a unique set of decorative stretch and over-edge stitches that make for extra strong seams. These stitches can be used for applique, quilting, stippling, and certainly for garment construction.

A stitch reference guide is printed on the front of the machine so you can quickly find the pattern you want and a dial on the side is used to scroll through those available patterns. The selected stitch pattern appears in a small window on the front of the machine. Two dials on the front control stitch width and stitch length – both of which are adjustable to 5mm.

This set of stitches includes a four-step, bartack style buttonhole. Not as quick as a one-step, but still very functional and easy enough for beginners to use.

Singer 1748 Presser Feet
This sewing machine comes with four snap-on style, low shank presser feet: All Purpose foot, Zipper foot, Buttonhole foot, and the Button Sewing foot which can be used to attach two and four-hole buttons.

The presser foot lever has 3 height settings including the normal down position used during sewing, the up position used to insert or remove fabric, and an extra high up for inserting and removing thicker fabrics.

Singer 1748 Features
This electric sewing machine offers a basic set of sewing features. There is an automatic needle threader, adjustable top thread tension, a handy reverse lever for reverse sewing, and a manual thread cutter at the back of the machine. It’s not high on automation but it is a nice, sturdy basic sewing machine that’s easy to operate.

You can remove the flat bed for free-arm sewing and a work lamp provides adequate lighting over the needle plate.

The bobbin winder is not automatic and you do have to draw up the bottom threads yourself to start sewing. The bobbin is also front-loading, not top-loading, which some people find more difficult to work with while others prefer this traditional bobbin set up.

Singer 1748 Accessories
Included are a number of sewing accessories that store in the flat bed attachment: L-shaped screwdriver, seam ripper and brush, oil bottle, extra needles, extra bobbins, a seam guide, darning plate, spool holder, and a second spool pin.

The Singer 1748 sewing machine is a great for beginners, particularly if the focus will be on stretchy fabrics and clothes-making projects.

Brother CS6001 Computerized Sewing Machine Review

Brother CS6001 Computerized Sewing Machine Review

The Brother CS6001 60-Stitch Computerized Free-Arm Sewing Machine is the sewing machine you have always wanted to have. It is a perfect example of how far sewing machines have come since the treadle machine. It has the convenience of fully computerized sewing, automatic needle threading, push-button sewing, and 60 fun stitches to show your creativity. Two hundred years ago people were unable to purchase carefully-stitched quality clothes until the advent of the mechanical sewing machine. Manufacturers could then start to manufacture a great amount of quality clothes at little cost. Fast forward to 2010, and now we have the computerized Brother machine with seven buttonhole styles, and an LCD screen which displays settings for home use, much to the delight of home sewers. Something that used to be labor-intensive and time-consuming can now be done quickly and easily. There are hundreds of glowing customer reviews for this machine.

The features of this machine are outstanding. You can chose the stitches from an LCD display, and it includes stitches for mending, garment construction, quilting, heirloom stitching, decorative stitching, and seven styles of one-step auto-sizing buttonholes. For example, you can make keyhole or eyelet buttonholes. It also has built-in super-wide 7MM zigzag decorative stitches, a one-step drop in bobbin, and an oversized accessory table for large projects and quilting. It is portable and lightweight, and comes with a cover to protect it when not in use.

The very helpful manual is in both English and Spanish. It has electronic speed control so you can chose the perfect speed for you. One satisfied customer said, “It comes with every foot and accessory you could possibly need.” The quilting feet include a walking foot for accurate stitching of slippery fabrics or multiple layers, as well as a quilt guide for precise, evenly-spaced quilt lines. I didn’t learn to sew until later years, but with this computerized Brother machine I could easily and quickly sew items for my whole home, as well as clothes for myself or my family. I know I can do this for a long time; it has a 25 year limited warranty. The dimensions are 16 x 6.7 x11.4 inches. I can operate it either with or without the foot control, using the start/stop and reverse functions with one button. Accessories are also included for inserting zippers, darning, twin-needle stitching, plus a quick-change snap-on pressure foot that includes a buttonhole foot, a zipper foot, button-fitting foot, blind-stitch foot, overcasting foot, monogramming foot, zig zag foot, walking foot, and a quilt guide. If I want to sew on the kitchen table, it is easy to carry around. I can change the width and length of a stitch easily. The bobbin winds easily, and the machine is easy to thread even for a novice like me. The needle positions are variable, and there is built-in storage space.

The machine has an adjustable dial control for perfect thread tension. It also has a drop feed so you can create traditional or free form quilt patterns. Some of the other sewing machine manufacturers require you to purchase all sorts of extras in order to have a pleasant sewing experience, and this is not true with the Brother. With all its wonderful features, I feel that the Brother CS60001 60-Stitch Computerized Free-Arm Sewing Machine is an incredible value for an affordable price.

Brother LS2125i Sewing Machine Review

Brother LS2125i Sewing Machine Review

The Brother LS2125i sewing machine is very simple machine great for those regular mending tasks, light home projects, or for those just starting to learn to sew – especially kids. It’s the perfect starter machine for under 0.

It’s portable, electric and has a built in handle tucked in the back for easy movement. The machine is white with light and medium blue trim.

Brother LS2125i Stitch Patterns
There are 10 built-in stitches that accommodate all basic mending and clothes construction work: a four-step automatic buttonhole, 3 styles of zigzag stitches, a zigzag satin stitch, straight stitch, stretch blind hem, shell tuck, and an elastic stitch.

There are lots of more expensive machines for those who want to get into crafting, take up embroidery sewing, or design entire wardrobe collections but this machine is for those who need to do the occasional repair, make a child’s play or Halloween costume, or complete some home decorating projects like curtains, tablecloths, and placemats.

Brother LS2125i Presser Feet
Four snap-on style presser feet come with this machine: Zigzag, Buttonhole, Zipper, and the Button Sewing foot. Changing presser feet is easy and does not require the use of any special tools.

These are standard, low-shank presser feet most used for mending and making clothes. They make it easier to create buttonholes, attach zippers and even sew buttons onto fabric.

Brother LS2125i Sewing Machine Features
The extension arm of this machine slips off so that you can perform free-arm sewing to finish off cuffs or hem pant legs. A reverse lever also located on the front of the machine is used to lock completed stitches in place. It is suitable for light, manual embroidering, monogramming and applique stitches and handles light and medium weight fabrics.

There is a built in work lamp, a bag for accessories which is stored in a compartment within the extension arm itself, and the machine is compatible with a twin needle for decorative sewing. A buttonhole fine-adjusting screw allows you to tighten or loosen the buttonhole stitch to cover a multitude of buttonhole options from small, cuff buttonholes to larger button openings. Extra bobbins, needles, a darning plate, twin needle and screwdriver come in the accessory bag.

Beginners find the Brother LS2125i so easy to learn that they are sewing within minutes. Even young children find the easy controls and good-sized knobs and levers a breeze to use. Experienced sewers who just want a simple backup sewing machine for simple tasks would find this useful. Sometimes it is easier to have a second machine on hand rather than have to set up a full-sized home sewing or embroidery machine for a simple sewing task.
