Automatic Number Plate Recognition for the Advertising
The technology with the name “Automatic Number Plate Recognition” or ANPR is not very new and most of you must be aware with this. The Automatic Number Plate Recognition is mainly used for reading the number on the number plates of the vehicles. A CCTV is installed in such system along with the sensor. Whenever the sensor detects the presence of a vehicle in the CCTV, it will enable the static camera which has already been installed in it and then it captures the image or the number which is there on the number plate.
However, in UK, an advertising company has claimed to use the Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology for the purpose of advertising as well. The company has made use of five billboards in the country and the output of all of them is fed to the camera installed in the Automatic Number Plate Recognition system. Once, the license plate has been captured by the camera then it takes fractions of a second for the system to look into the database and reveal the name of driver or the owner of that vehicle. The bill boards then display the products necessary for that particular vehicle.
